OCTOBER 2009 MINUTES

THREE RIVERS MODEL-T FORD CLUB 

 

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag led by President Wanda Stokes. 

 

Secretary Jane Armstrong read the minutes of the September meeting.  The minutes were passed after a correction that during Gary Ellingson’s tour, “Dean did not break down, his car did.” 

 

The Treasurer’s report was read.  We have money in the bank. 

 

OLD BUSINESS 

The tour to Walla Walla planned by Dale and Sharon Peterson was a huge success and enjoyed by all who attended.  Dale ran out of gas – oops!!!  Fred presented Dale with a gas tank as a “thank you”. 

 

The tour to Prosser planned by Fred and Mary Fraser was well attended with 22 coming for lunch.  Larry bought a hat and Mary found some cookie cutters she didn’t have.  How does she remember what she has? 

 

Dean Stokes presented a slate of officers who will be voted on at the November meeting.  Russ Armstrong was nominated as a Board Member. 

Treasurer – Mike Porter - incumbent; Linda Porter – challenger. 

Secretary – Jane Armstrong – incumbent; Wanda Stokes – challenger. 

Vice President – Fred Fraser – incumbent; Dean Stokes – challenger. 

President – Marlene Coder versus Regelio Rodriquez. 

 

The Christmas Party will be December 12 at 2:00 at Canyon Lakes Retirement Center, Wayne and Lorraine Williams are hosting the party.  The club will provide the ham, everyone should bring a dish to share and a gender neutral gift for the White Elephant Gift Exchange. 

 

The Arizona tour is February 19-21, 2010. 

 

NEW BUSINESS 

A date of January 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm has been set for dinner and installation of officers at the Kennewick Appleby’s.  The club will donate $5.00 towards dinner for everyone who has paid their 2010 dues before the 17th.  

 

The Model-T National Tour will be headquartered in Whitefish, Montana August 1 – 6, 2010.  The tour includes two tours into Glacier National Park, one tour to Flathead Lake, one tour to Kococanusa, Canada & Eureka, Montana.  Concluding banquet will be at the Summit House atop Big Mountain with a view into Glacier National Park.  There will be a Quilt Show in Eureka, Montana on August 7.  Please note that a passport is required for a brief trip into Canada. 

Jim Langdon has the trouble trophy from last year and wants to know how to get rid of it.  Jim, Larry and Mike were appointed Trouble Trophy Committee to decide who gets it for 2010.  It will be presented to the lucky new recipient at the January 2010 meeting. 

 

Stan Fast would like to host another breakfast. 

 

Dave Johnson, who repairs vintage auto engines, has moved to Wilkerson, WA near Pullayup.  His phone number is the same, 509-901-2929. 


Sharon Peterson has signed up for refreshments in November.
